Ivan Kalinin is
our January 2007 Student of the Month

 

 

Ivan Kalinin :

Ivan Kalinin was chosen as our student of the month of January because of his acceptance to three of the USA's most prestigious Business Schools: Harvard, Stanford and Wharton.

Ivan received his BA degree in Econometrics from Kiev State University. He is a Certified Financial Manager (CFM) and a member of the Institute of Management Accountants.

Ivan started in Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in August 2005. He worked with the consumer goods and financial services industries and completed projects on distribution strategy development, post-merger integration and business restructuring in Russia and Ukraine.

Previously, Ivan worked for three years in the Kiev and Moscow offices of Procter & Gamble (2002-2005) as a financial analyst and customer team financial manager. He was responsible for:

  • Development of long-term investment plans for the company's distribution system
  • Value chain analysis and implementation of projects for margin optimization
  • Leading the implementation of new customer pricing terms
  • Implementation of marketing budget efficiency improvement project
  • Financial evaluation and risk assessment of marketing initiatives
  • Development of profitability recovery strategy for a product category with a revenue of $130 m
  • Prior to Procter & Gamble, Ivan worked for the private equity firm SigmaBleyzer Investment Group.

    Concerning his choice of B-schools, Ivan aspired to receive the best general management education and a strong network which would help him throughout his career.
