Ksenia Kokareva :

(paraphrased from her own words...)

Ksenia Kokareva graduated from MGIMO in 2006 as a Specialist with a red diploma from the International Law Department.

In 2005, she participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. She won 1st place individual oralist award out of 88 speakers in the 2005 Russian National Rounds, and of 68 speakers in 2004 Russian National Rounds. She also ranked 5th place individual oralist award of 376 speakers in the 2004 Shearman & Sterling International Rounds in Washington, D.C.

Aside from that, Ksenia:

  • participated in and organized Moscow International Model United Nations
  • acted as the Head of Human Rights Committee of the Students' United Nations Association of Russia
  • worked for almost a year for White & Case in Moscow as an Associate
  • was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and partial waiver of tuition from Harvard Law School to study for an LL.M. degree at HLS

At Pericles, in 2005 Ksenia won first place in the Pericles - University of San Diego Institute on International and Comparative Law Summer Abroad Scholarship Competition and studied International Litigation and Arbitration in Paris with Professor Bermann of Columbia Law School; and in 2006, she did a Legal Writing Course with Prof. Marian Dent.

Ksenia applied for four LL.M. programs and got admitted to all of them (HLS, Columbia, Oxford, and Cambridge). But at the end of the day, "she gave it all to Harvard," as they say.
