Pericles wishes to honor our 2009 graduating class naming them the Students of Summer.
Their graduation ceremony, held on June 28, 2009, was special for a number of reasons. This graduation marked our fifth anniversary of graduating students from the LL.M. program. Further, the 2009 graduating class, at 15 students, was the largest graduating class in the history of the Pericles LL.M. We are especially pround of both our students, and our program, and we wish to share their success with everybody.
This year was an occasionally difficult year for everybody because of the current financial crisis. Some of our students faced career changes. A few of the students are in the process of starting families. Some just had financial problems due to the crisis. Yet, despite everything, they worked hard and persevered. All of our graduating students faced the challenges of balancing careers, studies and personal lives, and they all, to a one, succeeded. We celebrate their success!
Individually, our 2009 graduating students represent the spectrum of the Russian legal community and stand out because of their personal achievements and goals. All of them have shown a desire for education and professional development. Many of them have participated in, and won scholarships for, the USD summer study abroad program. One student is currently spending the summer studying law at Trinity College, Dublin. Two of the students plan to take the New York bar exam in the near future. All of them have proven themselves personally, intellectually, and professionally.
Our 2009 graduating class included the following people: Maria Tyurnikova, Anastasia Pavlova, Lena Pavlova, Tanya Mironos, Natalia Dozortseva, Ksenia Solovieva, Natalia Mikhaylovskaya, Rostislav Romanychev, Denis Nazarevsky, Yulia Osipova, Elvira Sashina, Ilmira Solntseva, Evelyn Huber, Anna Parshkova, and our valedictorian, Marina Soshnikova.
Pericles thanks the 2009 graduating class, collectively and individually, for choosing Pericles, for being noteworthy students, and for contributing to the history of our LL.M. program here in Moscow. Our congratulations and best wishes for their success!
